What HGV work at Culina Logistics actually taught me
I have worked as an HGV driver at Culina Logistics in the United Kingdom since 2019. I obtained my CPC in 2018 and worked with other companies first. Culina is where the rhythm settled: routes, warehouses, driving hours and standards you do not rewrite overnight.
What actually matters on the road
In transport the difference is not how you talk about the job. It is whether you arrive on time, whether the vehicle is right and whether you keep the breaks. CPC is not a certificate for a folder. It is discipline: rest, checks, attention to the road and to other people. If you skip that, you do not “save time”. You move the risk somewhere else.
At Culina I saw how much predictability matters. The customer on the chain does not see the truck. They see whether the goods arrived when they should. That is why I write about this work without dressing it up. It is tiring, it is regular, and it asks you to be awake in the literal sense, not just “committed”.
Why it belongs on this website
ionelnistor.ro is not a fleet blog. It is my personal site. Transport is half of my path, next to custom websites. If someone searches for Ionel Nistor or Nistor Ionel, they should find both: a UK HGV driver and the person who builds PHP and Laravel projects. Those are not two identities. They are the same working method: plan, do, check.
